United for Liberty
Circle of Courage, Unity, and the Birth of a Nation
Description
There are moments in history when people with different lives, backgrounds, and experiences discover that they share something greater than themselves. "United for Liberty: Circle of Courage, Unity, and the Birth of a Nation" was created in honor of that idea. At the heart of this 27-inch original mandala, figures representing the people who helped shape America's struggle for independence stand together beneath the American flag. Their joined hands become the emotional center of the composition—a symbol of common purpose, determination, sacrifice, and the belief that liberty was worth pursuing together. The inscriptions within the center reinforce its message: “United We Stand • For Liberty and All” and “One Nation • One Cause • One Future.” Beneath them, 1776 anchors the artwork firmly to the founding era it honors.
Surrounding that scene, layer after layer of meticulously hand-painted pattern expands outward in a richly detailed interpretation of American heritage. Stars, patriotic red and navy, warm gold, ivory, copper and earth-inspired accents create a composition that feels historic without becoming conventional. Its substantial 27-inch diameter gives United for Liberty an impressive wall presence, while the intricate pattern work rewards a much closer look. A high-gloss epoxy finish enriches the colors, protects the hand-painted surface, and gives the completed artwork a beautiful dimensional depth.
More than patriotic décor, "United for Liberty" is a reflection on one of America's enduring ideals: that extraordinary things become possible when people find the courage to stand together for a common cause.
Curator's Comments
What makes United for Liberty particularly compelling is the relationship between its center and its surrounding geometry. The central image tells the story; the mandala carries that story outward. Repeated stars, shield-like forms, circles, arches and meticulously placed dots create an almost rhythmic progression from the figures at the center toward the substantial black outer rim. The result feels simultaneously historic and contemporary. From across a room, it reads as a bold piece of American art. Up close, the extraordinary hand-painted detail becomes the experience. At 27 inches, this is a substantial original and deserves enough visual space to command attention.
Why You'll Love It
United for Liberty combines American history with the intricate craftsmanship of contemporary mandala art. Its 27-inch scale creates presence without overwhelming a room, while the extraordinary detail invites viewers to discover something new each time they approach it.
The restrained heritage palette makes it especially versatile for Americana, traditional, colonial-inspired, rustic, lodge, library, office, and transitional interiors. Most importantly, its message extends beyond a particular battle or individual—it celebrates unity, courage, liberty, and shared purpose.
