The Patient Angler
Circle of Feline Curiosity, Fishy Temptations, and Mischievous Intentions
Description
Patience is a virtue—especially when dinner is swimming just beyond reach. "The Patient Angler" captures one of those wonderfully familiar moments when feline curiosity becomes a carefully calculated mission. At the center, an orange tabby stretches an inquisitive paw toward an aquarium, seemingly convinced that with just a little more persistence, one of those tempting fish might finally become his prize.
Surrounding this playful scene is an intricate hand-painted mandala of layered teardrops, delicate dots, sweeping curves, and repeating geometric forms. Earthy greens, soft teal, warm gold, cream, and touches of amber echo the natural colors of the central image while standing beautifully against the dramatic dark background. Hand-painted in acrylic and finished with a lustrous epoxy coating, this 20-inch original mandala brings personality, craftsmanship, and a touch of mischief to the room.
There is humor here, but also something quintessentially feline: intense concentration, endless curiosity, and the unwavering belief that anything within sight must surely be within reach.
Curator's Comments
What makes The Patient Angler particularly engaging is the contrast between the cat's very serious concentration and the mischief of what we know he's contemplating. The surrounding mandala almost becomes a frame for his little adventure, drawing the eye inward toward that poised paw and those tantalizing fish. Look closely and you'll discover how beautifully the earthy greens, teal, gold, cream, and amber tones move outward from the central image into the surrounding pattern. It is playful without becoming novelty art—a piece that can make you smile while still commanding attention for its craftsmanship.
Why You'll Love It
